Panocal with its own forests of Eucalyptus and Cypress, and buying from surrounding farmers, runs a timber treatment plant that produces electricity poles, fencing and building posts that are supplied throughout Kenya by our highly trained personnel including Wood Scientists and Nursery Managers. We treat this as a renewable resource, hence the Nursery Managers continue reforesting our land and provide seedlings to the surrounding community.

Quality Treatment Process
Chemical impregnation is carried out by full cell (Vacuum- pressure) method, according to Kenya standard KS-02 94, using the water soluble mixture of Chrome, Copper and Arsenic salts (CCA).
Moisture content of the pole at the time of treatment, chemical concentration used during treatment, chemical retention and physical characteristics of poles such as; defects, straightness, dimensions are key features looked at the poles to ensure they meet all the standards required, i.e. KS 516:2008 and KS 02-94.
